… that Guy in
Milton
Several years ago, I got a phone call at the Studio and the lady
asked me, “Are you that guy in Milton that does photography”? I
liked the phrase so much I have used it ever since. In Jan of
2010 another customer told me we should add “Recession Buster”
to our logo, because “our prices still allowed her family to
order Professional Photographs even in this recession”. She also
told us it was wonderful ordering her pictures from real proofs
on her time timetable instead of being held hostage for an order
while viewing projected proofs at her former Studio, I couldn’t
have said it better!
Sterling Images of NC Owned and operated by Pat Bullock, we specialize in Professional
Color and Black & White Portraiture. Since 1997, Sterling Images
continues to grow each year by providing Professional Courteous
Photography at affordable prices, we don’t project your images,
we print real proofs on Kodak Pro Paper and give them to you
with any order over $150, that’s right, the proofs you
received and ordered from are Free if you just spend $150.
Pat Bullock, My life’s journey to this point has taken me though different
professional channels but I think photography was so deeply
rooted in my system I was destined to return.
In 1975 I shot my first wedding
with a Yashica Mat 124 Camera and developed the B/W prints in
our Darkroom. I followed my brother’s footsteps in High School
on the Yearbook staff and as the local Photographer in our town.
In my senior year, I decided to go to College for Electronics.
During College I met my wife of 30 years, then after graduating
in Electronics I went to work for CP&L as an Electronics Tech. I
continued with CP&L for almost 20 years spending the last 10
years in Management at Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant in
Raleigh NC. In 1997 I left CP&L and returned to Professional
Photography as General Manager of a Professional Photography
Colour Lab in Charlotte NC and started Sterling Images of NC.
In 2007 after almost 10 years in the Colour Lab business, the
decision was again obvious; I returned to photography fulltime
and devoted myself to Sterling Images. We are truly a family
business, my wife and daughters all work in the business along
with my Parents and my Wife’s Parents. My son-in law, my niece,
Brother and Sister in law and numerous friends also help us in
the business. My wife and family have always supported the
business, without them I know it would fail. I never wanted my
business named after me, since it is truly a Family business I
got the name from my Father in law, Sterling Hudson, (our Custom
Framer).
I don’t believe there is a better job on the planet that allows
you to touch more lives than Photography. There is also no
better feeling than a mother crying when she looks at a Portrait
of her child that we created at Sterling Images. Thanks to all
of our many loyal customers, it is truly a pleasure working with
each of you.
Continued Training
I strongly believe that to be a Professional Photographer you
must make the time plus financial investment to be members of a
Professional Photography Organization, and continue your
Professional Photography training each year. Since returning to
Photography fulltime, we are proud members of “PPNC”,
Professional Photographers of NC and “SPI”, Senior Photographers
International and attend those conventions annually. We also
attend the “East Coast” Photography School each year and have
trained under World Famous Photographers Doug Box and Tony
Corbell.
Recognition
In Jan 2010, our High School Senior Boy and Girls Books both
won Honor Awards at the Senior Photographer International
Convention in Fla. We also were recognized as one of the top
400 High School Senior Photographers in the United States.
In 2009 we were voted “ Caswell Messengers Readers Best
Photographer.” In 2008 our Print won First Place Portrait,
and also 2008 Best of Show at the East Coast Photography
School.
